一直到現在，每年都還要花每本動輒300-400元的價格，購買各種不同版本的英文NBA和NCAA籃球季前預測，原因之一是肯定他們製作的用心。這種雜誌，重點自然在各隊鉅細遺的季前分析，但我最喜歡的部份，其實是它們在球隊分析之外所作的專題或專文，相當有看頭，也都能學到不少東西。
最近讀Athlon Sports的NBA預測，看到幾句令人噴飯的話，和大家分享一下：
Mike Brown
騎士隊教練Mike Brown以複雜的戰術聞名，經常搞得球員快抓狂。舉例來說，他有一套戰術的名字叫作"Thumb Up 35 Rub Blue C"。有一名球員在接受ESPN雜誌訪問時這麼說：
By the time he gets it out of his mouth, the shot clock is at 19. And by the time the point guard repeats it, the clock is at 12.
他喊完戰術，進攻時間只剩19秒。再等到控球重覆一次，時間只剩12秒。
Tony Barone
去年季中出任灰熊代理教練的Tony Barone，在談到體重失控、體能下降的Pau Gasol時這麼說：
He is going to play minutes. If he's dying, he's going to play minutes. I told him, "Don't look over to the bench to me because you're tired, because you're not coming out. You will die. You'll be the first player who died on the basketball court because you're tired."
他一定會有很多上場時間。即使他快死了，也會有很多上場時間。我告訴他：別因為你在場上累了就一直看著我，因為我絕不會把你換出場。你會打到死為止，你會成為籃球史上第一個在場上打到累死的球員。
